Jeanmarie B. Shea

Ms. Shea is a principal of the firm and a member of the firm's Trusts and Estates Group. She focuses her practice in the areas of estate and tax planning, probate, trust administration, and philanthropic giving.

Ms. Shea counsels individuals and families with respect to a wide variety of asset management, preservation and transfer issues and techniques and works with them to develop and implement estate plans designed to meet their personal and financial goals and objectives while minimizing applicable income, gift and estate taxes. Ms. Shea has significant experience representing individual and professional fiduciaries as well as non-charitable and charitable beneficiaries in complex estate, trust, tax, and related matters involving the probate courts, the Internal Revenue Service and the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services.

Education:Ms. Shea received her B.A. in Economics, cum laude, from Yale University (1980) and her J.D., with honors, from the University of Connecticut School of Law (1985), where she was Executive Editor of the Connecticut Law Review.

Honors and Awards: Ms. Shea is AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rated in Martindale-Hubbell™ in the areas of Trusts and Estates and Corporate Law. She is also listed in the Best Lawyers in New England and Best Lawyers in Connecticut in the area of Trusts and Estates.
