Jeanmarie B. Shea
Ms. Shea is a principal of the firm and a member of the firm's Trusts and Estates Group. She focuses her practice in the areas of estate and tax planning, probate, trust administration, and philanthropic giving.
Ms. Shea counsels individuals and families with respect to a wide variety of asset management, preservation and transfer issues and techniques and works with them to develop and implement estate plans designed to meet their personal and financial goals and objectives while minimizing applicable income, gift and estate taxes. Ms. Shea has significant experience representing individual and professional fiduciaries as well as non-charitable and charitable beneficiaries in complex estate, trust, tax, and related matters involving the probate courts, the Internal Revenue Service and the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services.
Education:Ms. Shea received her B.A. in Economics, cum laude, from Yale University (1980) and her J.D., with honors, from the University of Connecticut School of Law (1985), where she was Executive Editor of the Connecticut Law Review.

Professional and Civic Organizations: Ms. Shea is a member of the Estate and Business Planning Council of Hartford. She also serves on the Executive Committee of the Estates & Probate Section of the Connecticut Bar Association, the Professional Advisory Council of the University of Connecticut Foundation, Inc. and the Legal and Tax Panel of the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Hartford. An active community volunteer, she is the Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the Mark Twain House & Museum, a member of the Board of Directors of the Yale Club and Scholarship Foundation of Hartford, Inc., and a Past President of The College Club of Hartford.
